Saturday Check-In

March 31st, 2012 | Ann

Thanks for all of your comments and love on Thursday’s post. Sometimes, it really means SO MUCH to just have someone say, “I know how you feel. You aren’t alone. It’s okay to feel this way, and you WILL run this race.”

I’m headed out this morning for a long-run, and will be meeting Hannah. She is seriously one awesome chick (I posted about her a week ago regarding her scary Pulmonary Embolism diagnosis) – and she has offered to run with me and workshop my training plan for the next 4 weeks.

That’s right, folks, in 4 weeks, I will be running the Get In Gear Half-Marathon.

But until then? I signed up for this -

The awesome and amazing Jess (at www.runwithjess.com) is putting on the 2nd annual Jelly Bean Virtual Race. Ya’ll, this is SO COOL. Click here to sign up FOR FREE and pick your race – 5k, 10k, half-marathon or bike 21k. She sends you a race bib, and ANYTIME between April 1st and April 8th, you complete you race. Then, you get entered into a drawing with some SERIOUSLY sweet prizes!

THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO RUN THIS FREE VIRTUAL RACE!!

Unless, of course, you want ME to win all the prizes. Click here to sign up

In non-running news, I did NOT win the Mega  Millions jackpot lastnight.

(just kidding. I’ve never bought tickets for the lottery before. In fact, I didn’t know you had to buy them with cash, and I had to go to the ATM and go BACK to the gas station to buy them. #fail.)

Other than my long run, I’ll be having a friend and her fiance over for a grill-out + bonfire tonight, and then spending time with my family tomorrow (trip to the compost pile? Yes, please!) and generally cleaning and relaxing.

Do you have any fun weekend plans?

I didn’t buy any tickets I have only bought lottery tickets a handful of times. Guess it’s not in the stars for me to win the lotto. This weeekend, let see today is a rest day and tomorrow is a 10 miler, I am going to fit in part of the Jelly Bean Virtual run as part of my 10 miler.

    1. SO glad that your run went well.

    2. Enjoy this weekend and relax- you have definitely earned it!

    3. This is actually probably the perfect bonfire weather, since the idea of being near open flames at this point sounds extremely appealing.

I am all signed up for the virtual raced! Thanks for the heads up. :)

Happy your run went well! Too bad we didn’t “run” into each other hopefully next time.

Hmmm…have to run this virtual race! I’m glad you got so much support!

In non-running news, I bought the second lottery ticket of my life the other night too, and although I just happened to pay in cash, I also had no idea that was a requirement. Thanks for the heads up :)
